We would like to invite you on a private tour to experience Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and it's endemic rain forest - a UNESCO world heritage site, and the waterfalls, black sand beaches, and the prettiest city of the Pacific! Our private tours are much more affordable than pre-arranged shore excursion and big bus tours. Our small group sizes of 6 or less gives us the freedom & flexibility to custom create an adventure of a lifetime!
The tour starts off with a quick viewing of and short walk to a black sand beach, followed by a visit to Queen Lili'uokalani Gardens (the largest Japanese garden outside the country of Japan) and Rainbow Falls. After our Hilo town stops we then start heading up the mountain to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. En route to the park there are many stops your guide will tell you about, at that point if the stop interests you we stop, if not we keep going.
Once in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park the stops include, but are not limited to: Visitor Center, Jaggar museum, The Steam Vents, Kilauea Iki and The Thurston Lava Tube--this lava tube is very accessible and well lit. The Jaggar Museum and Hawaii Volcanoes Observatory is where you get to stare directly into the Kilauea's active crater of lava!! After viewing the HVNP, we head back into Hilo town to visit more sights including an incredible black sand beach and more.
At all our points of interest our guides travel with you first for your safety, secondary to share our mana'o (knowledge) with you. Our guides are all certified with the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park training, as well medically trained (Wilderness First Responders, ARC First Aid & CPR and EMT). They also have many years of experience interpreting this incredible ecosystem. Many of the other tour companies do not offer this service, which makes us a cut above the rest. We provide Hawaiian artesian water and favorite local snacks at no charge. We also have the opportunity to get a quick bite at many delicious local eateries.
Our trip rates are half the price of most pre booked shore excursions and your not jammed into a big bus or van; affordable, intimate and exclusive! Now that is AKAMAI (WISE)... We accept cash, Visa/Master Card or Discover cards--with no hidden fees; if we go anywhere that charges entrance fees, your group tour rate is all inclusive. We require no pre-payment or deposit of any kind, hence our cancellation policy is a courtesy call to us notifying us of your cancellation.
If you would like to make a reservation, the next step is to send us your names, contact phone number(s), and cabin number. We need this information for the Hilo Harbor Master in order to grant us permission to enter the pier for pick up and return. We then send you a confirmation call or e-mail to confirm the details of the tour. Please let us know if anyone in the group needs special assistance as well. Pick up time usually varies from 8:15 to 9:15 am, your choice!
